Officials with Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office confirm on Sunday the body of a female was discovered near a creek in the Nesmith area. According to a press release issued November 20, deputies responded to S-45-24/Nesmith Road after being notified about a body being located under a bridge. The body was discovered as the result of a collision that occurred at the location. The body found was not involved or related to the traffic collision. The body was sent to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) for an autopsy.

Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). South Carolina Highway Patrol along with Williamsburg County Fire Department also assisted with the incident.
