A special meal for our elders was made special by the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office. On Thursday, December 10, 2020, the Sheriff’s Office made a holiday gesture by cooking a meal for the clients of Vital Aging.
Because of the pandemic, things were set up a little differently. Rather than host the annual Sheriff’s Christmas dinner at the Williamsburg County’s Emergency Management building, the staff and administration prepared over 150 plates of BBQ chicken and all the fixin’s then delivered the meals to the three Wellness Centers in Kingstree, Greeleyville and Hemingway.
The Sheriff’s Office Christmas dinner was started over 10 years ago by former Sheriff Kelvin Washington. Vital Aging is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization providing aging services to senior citizens throughout Williamsburg County.
