The road to a state championship came to an end on Tuesday, February 20 when Kingstree’s Lady Blazers fell to Bishop England in the third round of playoffs 56 to 28.  The team was undefeated in the 8AA region for the first time in Blazer history, and ranked #4 in the state in the 2A classification.  This was the second year the team reached the third round of the state playoffs.

“The season didn't end quite how we wanted it to, but it doesn't take away from the outstanding season that we just completed. Our Senior class has left the program on solid ground and laid the foundation for future Blazer teams to follow and hopefully push the program to even greater heights,” says coach James Price.

Eight players will return for next season. “We feel we have the essential pieces in place to make another deep run in the playoffs for 2024-2025. Commitment to hard work in our summer program will be key to skill development and team unity. We are humble and hungry to prove that we belong on the big stage,” he says.

The girls’ basketball team finished their 2023-2024 season 20-4.
