On April 5, Jerome D. McCrea of Kingstree was sent a letter from the SC Democratic party stating he was disqualified from running for Williamsburg County Coroner because he did not meet the filing requirements for the position. A representative of the SC Democratic Party confirmed with the Post & Courier that he did not complete his filing paperwork so he will not be on the June 11 Democratic Party ballot as a candidate for coroner.
Due to his disqualification, incumbent Ivori Henryhand will be running unopposed as the Democratic candidate for coroner in the November election.
