The Improved Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the World are also involved in engaging youth in activities such as Oratorical Contests and Talent Contests. Lake City Elks Lodge no.1680 and Harriet Tubman Temple no.1320 recently sponsored their annual Oratorical Contest in which Filiya Coffee won and continued to win District Four Improvement Council's Oratorical Contest in Darlington at the Pee Dee United Elks Lodge no.1679 and Excelsior Temple 790 and will represent District Four Improvement Council at the SC State Association of Elks in Columbia.
