Williamsburg County Democratic Party met for their County Convention at the Alex Chatman Auditorium in Kingstree on Saturday, March 16. Community members and delegates from districts across the county met to hear from elected officials, incumbents and some fresh faces seeking office.  Mauretta Wilson, current Chair of the Williamsburg County Democratic Party oversaw the event. Williamsburg County native and National Campaign Consultant, Kerry Singleton, Jr was keynote speaker. He is a graduate of CE Murray High School and currently attends Morehouse College.

Williamsburg County Democratic Convention Officers were elected to oversee and document the day’s elections. Attendees elected Precinct Chairs and Alternatives, as well as delegates and alternatives to represent the county at the State Convention, which takes place on Saturday, May 18 in Columbia.

The following Democrats have filed to run in the November 5 Statewide General Election.

County Council, District 5: Paul Ervin McKnight
