Seniors Patrol - The Kingstree Police Depart-ment is offering a seniors patrol wellness check. Any elderly, ill or bedridden residents of the Town of Kingstree who would like for the police department to contact them on a regular basis should call Chief Robert Ford. Memory Dish - Hospice Care of South Caro-lina's Grief Support Group, known as the "Memory Dish" is held the second Thursday of each month from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Williamsburg Technical Col-lege (Administrative Office Building Conference Room). Play - The Swamp Fox Players and the Historic Strand Theater located in Georgetown will present the 2012 season must see finale “Dracula,” by Steven Dietz from the novel written by Bram Stoker! Concert - The Georgia Guitar Quartet has emerged as an exciting new voice in today’s music scene. These four men from the American South deliver a high-energy blend of breathtaking virtuosity and imaginative programming while taking an adventurous approach to classical music. Rousing Folk music and late Impressionistic masterpieces share the stage, while the sublime beauty of Chopin rubs shoulders with groundbreaking contemporary works. The incredible range of the performance will be a thrilling way to experience chamber music. The Georgia Guitar Quartet will be in concert on Thursday, November 15, at 7:30 p.m. at the Lake City Presbyterian Church.

Program - The Williamsburg County Veterans Affairs Office along with several of our local businesses has arranged with Brown’s Bar-B-Que for veterans with proper identification, to eat free on Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., their closing time. There will be a Veterans Day Program on Sunday, November 11, in the auditorium at the Alex Chatman Complex Center at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and help us pay tribute to our veterans who gave all and the ones who gave some to protect us from harm.
Classes - The Williamsburg County Recreation Center will be registering students for children and youth dance classes starting Monday, October 25, and ending Monday, November 15. Parents may register students at the recreation center’s office between the hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Classes will be for young people ages four to 17 and will be combination classes of ballet, tap, jazz, African dance and gospel hip hop. This is a nine-week course for $60. Christmas Parade - The Town of Kingstree will host its annual Christmas Parade on Friday, December 7, at 6 p.m. Participants are asked to contact the Kingstree Town Hall, Frank H. McGill Municipal Complex located at 401 N. Longstreet St., Kingstree or you may call (843) 355-7484 for entry, registration, and additional information no later than Wednesday, November 18. Entry is free. Line up will begin at 5 p.m. at the Kingstree Public Library located on Jackson Street. The parade will end at the Anderson Bank located on E. Main Street. The lighting of the Christmas tree will commence following the parade at Welch’s Park Downtown on E. Main Street. There will be a special guest for the kids.

The Low Country Youth Enhancement Program along with the Town of Lane will sponsor a Fall Fun Carnival in the Town of Lane on Saturday, November 17, from 1 p.m. until the music stops. There will be food, music, fun and games. The Town of Lane will also have a fish fry. Proceeds from the carnival and fish fry will go toward the annual senior citizens Christmas dinner and to sponsor a family “A Christmas merrymaking.”
Course - AARP will be hosting an AARP driver safety classroom course at the Williamsburg County Library at 215 North Jackson Street, Kingstree, on Friday, November 9. There is a $12 fee for AARP members and a $14 fee for non-members. Veterans and their dependents are free. Participants must be over 25 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Parade - The Andrews Veterans Association (AVA) is proud to announce a Veterans Day Parade and service will be held in Andrews on Saturday, November 10, at 1 p.m., with a service to follow at 3 p.m. The parade will be held on Main Street and the service will be held inside the local National Guard Armory. Santa Pictures - Thursday, December 13, the Williamsburg County Library is hosting an event for children ages zero to 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Joe the Balloon Dude and Santa Claus will come and entertain the kids. There will be special balloons and free pictures with Santa for the parents!
