A single car crash Sunday night resulted in one fatality. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, on April 29, just after 7 p.m. a Dodge van was traveling east bound on Simms Reach Road when the driver ran off left side of the roadway, striking a bridge. According to Williamsburg County Coroner Harrison McKnight, Isaiah Izzard, 5, was killed as a result of the collision. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Denise Whitfield. A total of five passengers, including the driver were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. According to the report, the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt. At time of press, no other information was available. The crash remains under investigation by the highway patrol.
