Funeral services for Yvonne “Johnny Mae” Gourdine-Lewis were held Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Henryhand Funeral Home of St. Stephen, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Mrs. Gourdine-Lewis died Monday, March 11, 2013, at Newark Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. She was born December 31, 1946, the daughter of the late Willie Gourdine and Rosa Ross Gourdine. She was a 1962 graduate of Russellville High School of Russellville. She was married to the late Lawrence Lewis. Four sisters, Mrs. Lela G. Middleton, Mrs. Annie Mae G. Crosby, Mrs. Mary G. Pinckney and Mrs. Ethel Lee G. Pettigrew; and a niece who she cherished like a sister, Patricia Victoria P. Spann, preceded her in death. Survivors are: two daughters, Rozana Peaches Gourdine of St. Stephen; and Rosie Gourdine of Irvington, New Jersey; and five grandchildren.
