Funeral services for Wilson Burgess, conducted by Elder Curtis Brockington, were held Monday, November 16, 2009, at Clauddie Henryhand Mem-orial Chapel in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Burgess Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in New Zion. Mr. Burgess died Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. He was born May 18, 1936, in Clarendon County, a son of the late Rosa Lee McFadden McKenzie and James T. McKenzie, Sr. He was educated in the community church schools, Friendship and Howard Chapel. He sung with a local quartet. He was married to the late Ida Lue Reid Burgess. Survivors are: his children, Annie Lou Burgess Johnson, Rosetta Burgess (Ernest Bull) and Antonio Pressley (Victoria); his siblings, Edith Howard Burgess (Roland) of Turbeville; Andrew Reed and John Reed (Torrey) of Thomasville, North Carolina; Leroy McFadden (Jannette), and  Gwendolyn Robinson (Mack), both of Greeleyville; and Sharon Cooper of Manning; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
