WILLIE McCLORIN - LANE

Funeral services for Willie Lee “Chilly Willie” McClorin, conducted by the Rev. Clifford Levine, were held Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Bethel AME Church in Gourdine. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at McKnight Cemetery in Gourdine. Mr. McClorin died Friday, October 2, 2009, at the VA Hospital of East Orange, New Jersey. He was born January 25, 1962, in Salters, a son of Mrs. Fannie Davis McClorin and the late William McClorin. He attended Monumental Baptist Church of Jersey City, New Jersey. He graduated from C.E. Murray High School in 1980. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. While serving, his commendations included Outstanding Marksmanship Rifle Badge, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1988. His last employment was with Brason Construction. He was a highly skilled carpenter, mechanic and electrician. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Lane, are: his wife, Burnestine McClorin of Lane; one son, Courtney McClorin of Lane; one daughter, Lacheal McClorin of Columbia; six sisters, Christine Noland (Eugene) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Jannie Dukes and Cynthia McClorin of Lane; Carolyn McClorin, Lottie Anderson (Bobby) and Lavetta McClorin of Columbia; two brothers, Henry McClorin and Kenneth McClorin of Jersey City, New Jersey; and in-law, Christopher and Delores Dozier, Sr. of Lane.
