William “Billy” Parker Way, 69, of St. George, husband of Delores Murray Way, died Friday, January 20, 2012, at his residence.
Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Target United Methodist Church Cemetery, Holly Hill with the Rev. Preston Grimsley. Mr. Way was born July 14, 1942, in Holly Hill, a son of the late Roosevelt Parker and Minnie Lee Sweatman Way. He was raised in Santee by Jimmy and Katherine Way. He was a 1960 graduate of Elloree High School, retired from Giant Cement Plant, a member of the Local 216, Memorial Baptist Church and served in US Army, 82nd Airborne Special Forces. He was predeceased by siblings, Peggy Burns, Teddy Way, Dickie Way, and Donnie Way. Survivors, in addition to his wife, are: two sons, Richard Murray “Rich” Way (Donna) of Harleyville; and William Parker “Bill” Way (Shane) of Loganville, Georgia; and four grandchildren.
