Funeral services for William “Burnnie” Manigault, Jr., conducted by the Rev. Jack C. Washington, were held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Chapel of Pressley’s Funeral Home in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Pressley’s Funeral Home, followed Monday, January 18, 2010, at the Florence National Cemetery. Mr. Manigault died Saturday, January 9, 2010, at his home in Hampton, Virginia. He was born July 9, 1940, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Annie Lou Felix Manigault and William Manigault, Sr. He attended the public schools system of Williamsburg County, graduating in 1958 from Tomlinson High School as class salutatorian. He furthered his education at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Later he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for 35 years. After he retired from the United States Army as sergeant major, he worked many years as a real estate broker. Survivors are: five sisters, Roslyn Rush of Columbia; Carolyn Bradley of Utica, New York; CecilMae Pressley (Mervyn) of Kingstree; Mrs. Rachel Lesane (James) of Myrtle Beach; and Patricia Miller of Salters; and one brother, William Bernard Miller of Utica, New York.
