Funeral services for Wayne C. Howell, Sr., conducted by the Rev. James C. Breaux, were held Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Messiah Reformed Episcopal Church of Pineville. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery of Cross. Mr. Howell died Monday, July 16, 2012. He was born April 24, 1955, in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late Luther Howell, Sr. and Naomi Howell. He was a graduate of Cross High School, class of 1972. He then went on to Benedict College, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Manufacturer’s Hanover Trust, Credit Lyonnais, the Administration for Child Services and other various businesses employed him as an accountant/financial consultant. One sister, Janet Howell, preceded him in death. Survivors are: his wife, Carol Howell of Flemington, New Jersey; one son, Wayne C. Howell, II (Kafi) of Irvington, New Jersey; his siblings, Luther Howell, Jr. (Lois) of St. Stephen; and Elaine Walker (Joe) of Attleboro, Massachusetts; his mother-in-law, Delores Griffin of Brooklyn, New York; and one granddaughter.
