Traffic Safety Checkpoints
The Lane, Greeleyville, and Kingstree Police Departments will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints during the month of November.

Seniors patrol wellness check
The Kingstree Police Department is offering a seniors patrol wellness check.
Any elderly, ill or bedridden resident of the Town of Kingstree who would like for the police department to contact them on a regular basis should call Chief Robert Ford.
Chief Ford can be reached at 355-5435 or come by the police department and leave your name, phone number and address.

Weight Watchers to hold meeting
There will be a Weight Watchers meeting on November 19, at 5 p.m. at Waccamaw Mental Health, 314 E. Main St., Kingstree.

H1N1 Clinic offered
Williamsburg County School District in partnership with the Department of Health and Environment Control will offer H1N1 Shot Clinics at elementary schools within the district. These voluntary clinics will be held at Hemingway Elementary, Cades-Hebron Elementary, St.Mark Elementary, on November 18. W. M. Anderson Primary School, Kingstree Elementary School, Greeleyville Elementary School, and D. P. Cooper Elementary will host clinics on November 19. Clinics will be held from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Written parental consent is required for students to be immunized.

Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting
The Town of Kingstree Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held December 11, at 6 p.m. The parade will line up on Jackson Street at 5 p.m., and the Tree Lighting Ceremony will immediately follow the Christmas Parade in Welch Park.

Coat Drive to be held
If you are interested in donating a coat, hat, gloves or scarves you can drop them off at First American Cash Advance, 1315 N. Longstreet St., Kingstree, SC 29556 or to find a location nearest you visit their website, www.LifeDoesHappen.com or call 1-888-300-CASH. Donations will be collected now until November 25, to ensure that the coats are received by those who need them for the winter season.

Meal of Love offered
Await Non-Profit Organization will be serving Thanksgiving dinner to homeless, elderly and needy families of Williamsburg County on Thanksgiving day, November 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Evangelistic Temple Way of the Cross dining area. Christmas Parade to be held
The Trio Community Action Organization will hold its Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 5, at 10 a.m. The parade line-up will begin at 9 a.m. at St. John AME Church, located on the Trio Rd. Movie night at the library
Williamsburg County Library – Kingstree will be having a free movie night (Car movie) on Monday, November 23, at 5:45 p.m. The movie is rated PG-13 and parent permission is required for children under the age of 13.

Friends of Library book sales
The Friends of the Library will sponsor a book sale on the first Saturday in each month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  The book sale will be held at the white house on Church Street, Kingstree, beside the library.

WEOC to hold meeting
A regular called board meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 24, at 7 p.m. at the Georgetown CBSG Office, 1837 N. Fraser, Georgetown. The public is welcome to attend.

Meeting for reunion planned
All Kingstree Senior High School graduates of the golden 70s, 80s and 90s. There will be a reunion planning meeting on Sunday evening, November 22, at the Williamsburg County Recreation Center at 4 p.m.

Senior Bingo in Lane
The senior citizens in Lane invite any senior citizen to join them each first and third Tuesday at Lane Recreation Center on Broomstraw Rd. for “Senior Bingo,” where they do crafting, have Bible trivia, sing, share, fellowship and play Bingo.

Hemingway Christmas parade
The Hemingway Christmas Parade will be held Sunday, November 29, beginning at 3 p.m. There is no entry fee for participation in the parade. You may come by town hall Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to pick up your entry form. Deadline for entries will be Monday, November 23.

DSN to hold board meeting
Williamsburg County DSN Board will be having their monthly board meeting on Wednesday, November 18, at 4 p.m. at Williamsburg County Disabilities and Special Needs Board, 61 Greenlee Street, Kingstree.

Republican Party to hold meeting
The Williamsburg County Republican Party will have its regular meeting on Thursday, November 19, at Brown’s Bar-B-Que on Highway 52 N. in Kingstree. There will be a social hour and Dutch buffet at 6 p.m. and the business meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
This meeting is open to the public and all who are interested in conservative ideas are cordially invited to attend.

Vital Aging to hold meeting
Vital Aging of Williamsburg County, Inc. will hold its regular monthly Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday November 18, at 3:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Kingstree Wellness Center at 912 4th Avenue, Kingstree. Please call (843) 354-5496 if you have any questions.

First Steps to hold training
Williamsburg County First Steps Partnership Board will have their annual board orientation and training Saturday, November 21, at 9 a.m. in the Williamsburg County School District Annex Staff Development Room located at 500 N. Academy St., Kingstree.

Lake City Concert Series to be held
The Lake City Concert Series proudly presents the Hartsville Chamber Ensemble in concert Thursday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the Lake City Presbyterian Church.

Reunion meeting to be held
The Kingstree Senior High School class of 1990 will hold a class reunion meeting at Brown’s Bar-B-Que on November 28, at 3 p.m. For more information contact Terri Burgess at 372-8082 or Conya Mouzon at 244-0312.

Library to host performances
The Williamsburg County Library will be having Porkchop Productions perform Holly & the Christmas Gift on Saturday, December 5, at 2:30 p.m. at the Williamsburg County Library – Kingstree and at 5 p.m. at the Kennedy Center in Greeleyville.

Holiday closings for the library
The Williamsburg County Library in Kingstree, the Hemingway Branch, and the Bookmobile will be closed on Wednesday, November 25 through Saturday, November 28, in observance of the Thanksgiving holidays.  The libraries and bookmobile will resume hours on Monday, November 30.

CERT needs volunteers
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is recruiting motivated and dedicated individuals to volunteer to become part of a great organization that will be activated during emergency situations. The first information session will be held December 1, at 5 p.m. at 203 N. Brooks St., Kingstree. Other sessions will be scheduled based on the demand.
