Funeral services for Sheila Govan, conducted by Pastor Janet McCrea, were held Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Clauddie Henryhand Memorial Chapel of Kingstree, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Ms. Govan died Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital of Kingstree. She was born May 26, 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Obie Scott and Ernestine Govan. She worked with the Disabilities and Special Needs Board in California, cleaned homes and worked for Longstreet Fish Market. One brother, Terry McCray, and one sister, Carolyn Harrell Scott, preceded her in death. Survivors are: one daughter, Shreea McClary of Kingstree; one Goddaughter, Nichole McKnight of Kingstree; her companion, Clevland Mention; four sisters, Myra Davis, Patrica Warren and Deloris of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Peggy Scott of Franklin, Virginia; four brothers, Anthony (Pam), Butch (Dylesta), Eric (Crystal) and Michael, all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one she took as her mother, Mrs. Mary Mitchum of Kingstree; and four grandchildren.
