Mrs. Sara Louise Tisdale, 88, widow of John Lawrence Tisdale, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at the Kingstree Nursing Facility.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at the church cemetery.
Mrs. Tisdale was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of Sarah Hannah Byrdic Tisdale and John James Tisdale. She attended Williamsburg County schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. A son, Lawrence Belton Tisdale; three sisters, Almeter Harley, Annette Tisdale, and Norma Gibbons; and two brothers, Earl Tisdale and Lorin Tisdale, preceded her in death. Survivors are: two sons, Gerald Tisdale (Francis) of Kingstree; and Reynolds Tisdale (Kay) of Nesmith; three brothers, Hilton Tisdale (Carrie) of Manning; Carl Tisdale (Adelle) and Byrdic Tisdale (Linda) of Kingstree; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 205 Cedar Swamp Road, Kingstree, SC 29556.
