ROSA GAMBLE, KINGSTREE

Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Lee Cooper Gamble, conducted by Bishop Dr. Roosevelt Fulton, were held Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Evangelistic Temple Way of the Cross Church of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery of Kingstree.

Mrs. Gamble died Wednesday, November 21, 2012. She was born December 8, 1953, in Berkeley County, the daughter of Mrs. Janie Mae Cooper and the late Clarence Cooper. She attended the Williamsburg County Primary School of Greeleyville, Booker T. Washington public school in Miami, Florida, and Whalen High School in New York. She was employed with the Williamsburg County School District as a bus driver for 18 years. She served on the Band Booster Clubs for Kingstree Senior High and Kingstree Junior High for several years. She was a former member of Midway Baptist Church of Kingstree, where she enjoyed singing on the choir. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Kingstree, are: her husband, James E. Gamble; two daughters, Jeanette Gamble of Kingstree; and Mrs. Shirley Barnes (Gerald) of Columbia; one sister, Lisa Cooper of Miami, Florida; adopted children, Julian and Reba Shaw of Kingstree; a Godchild, Mrs. Regina Wallace Davis; and four grandchildren.
