ROBERTA MCCREA, KINGSTREE

Funeral services for Mrs. Roberta Mae McCray McCrea, conducted by the Rev. J. Jeannetté Cooper, were held Monday, February 4, 2013, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery of Kingstree. Mrs. McCrea, 87, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital of Kingstree. She was born August 14, 1925, in the Shaw Corner Community of Kingstree, the daughter of the late Heyward and Mable Pendergrass McCray. Four siblings, Danzel McCray, Voyd McCray, Hazel McCray, and Madeline McCray Leak, preceded her in death. She received her formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County and graduated from Tomlinson High School. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she was a Care Group Leader for many years. For many years, she taught in the Williamsburg County School District. She was married to the late Ben Ernest McCrea. A son, David Voyd McCrea, preceded her in death.

Survivors are: six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren.
