Robert Owen “Rod” Dukes, Sr., 53, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in a Kingstree hospital. Memorial services were held Sunday, July 5, 2009, at McDowell Presbyterian Church. Mr. Dukes was born in Toccoa, Georgia, a son of David A. Dukes and Jane Owen Dukes. He attended Greeleyville schools and was a graduate of Laurence Manning Academy. He was a farmer and a member of McDowell Presbyterian Church. Survivors are: one daughter, Kimberley Dukes Garcia (E.J.) of Corpus Christi, Texas; one son, Robert O. Dukes, Jr. of Greeleyville; two grandchildren; and his former wife, Helen Tisdale Dukes of Greeleyville. Memorials may be made to the Funeral Fund at Williamsburg Funeral Home.
