The Rev. L.J. Mc Knight, 84, widower of Eula Lee Strickland McKnight, died Sunday, December 13, 2009 in a Kingstree hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 15, 2009, in the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Rev. McKnight was born October 30, 1925, in Williams-burg County, a son of the late Leon Harlow McKnight and Mrs. Ola Mae Parker McKnight Tisdale. Educated in the Kingstree schools, he was a general contractor for 25 years. He was an ordained minister in the SC Pentecostal Holiness Conference for 18 years before his retirement, having served churches in Berkeley and Florence counties. Survivors are: two sons, Leon McKnight (Gail) of Florence; and Billy McKnight (Denise) of Kingstree; two daughters, Ann M. Coleman and Marie M. (Harry) Carter, both of Kingstree; one sister, Mae Dell McClary, of Kingstree eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to any charity of your choice.
