Funeral services for Sister Pauline Dozier Wallace, conducted by the Rev. Gilbert Dekine, were held Saturday, April 28, 2012, at St. James AME Church of Lane. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at St. James AME Church Cemetery of Lane. Sister Wallace died Sunday, April 22, 2012. She was born June 22, 1932, in Lane, the daughter of the late Sam and Edna Dozier. She was a lifelong resident of Williamsburg County, Lane. She received her education through Lane Consolidated Elementary School’s Adult Education Program. She worked for many years in Myrtle Beach. She was married to the late Arthur Leroy Wallace. One son, Alexander, preceded her to the grave. She was a member of St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she formerly served as emeritus of the Stewardess and Junior Usher Boards and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Society. She was a member of the Friendly Sisters Order of the Eastern Stars. Survivors are: five children, the Rev. Dr. Herman L. Wallace (Perry Lee) of Blackville; Ammie L. Scott (James Nell), and the Rev. Joann Howard (Kevin), both of Kingstree; Raymond L. Wallace of Orangeburg; and Dr. Larry D. Wallace of Durham, North Carolina; three brothers, Sam Dozier (Rebecca) of Georgetown; Christopher Dozier (Deloris) of Lane; and Tigler Dozier (Corine) of Homestead, Florida; two sisters, Bessie Dozier of Lane; and Rosa Lee Pompey of Miami, Florida; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
