PAULINE McALISTER - KINGSTREE

Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Singletary McAlister, conducted by the Rev. William McClary, were held Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Apostolic Faith Holiness Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery in Kingstree. Mrs. McAlister died Wednesday, October 28, 2009. She was born January 1, 1940, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Charlie and Pauline Singletary, Sr. She received her early education in the public schools of South Carolina. Upon the conclusion of her education, she married her long time sweetheart George McAlsister. After Pauline and her husband moved to Alabama, she became a homemaker and a pastor’s wife. She and her husband moved back to Kingstree after about 10 years. She was a member of Apostolic Faith Holiness Church for more than 40 years, where she served as a deaconess and she also aided in food preparation. Survivors are: eight children, Georgianna Morgan (Larry) of Anniston, Alabama; Gwen-dolyn Green (Sherman) of Talledega, Alabama; Laura Jackson (Jeffrey), Lenora Hawkins and George McAlist-er, Jr., all of Kingstree; Jennifer McAlister of St. Stephen; Joe McAlister (Brenda) of Colum-bus, Georgia; and Aquilla Scott (Ronnie) of Sumter; seven sisters, Rosetta Johnson of Baltimore, Maryland; Onetta McCrea (Deacon Jasper), Sadie Brockington, Hattie Pender-grass (Hartwell, Sr.), and Mary Madison, all of Kingstree; Caretha Bean of Florence; Florence Bryant (Mack-Arthur, Sr.) of Darling-ton; one brother, Stanley Singletary (Cassandra); 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
