PARTHENIA WILSON, KINGSTREE

Funeral services for Mrs. Parthenia Owens Wilson were held Saturday, January 21, 2012, at St. Paul United Methodist Church of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery of Kingstree. Mrs. Wilson died Sunday, January 15, 2012, at her home in Bronx, New York. She was born October 18, 1917, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late William and Etta Wheeler Owens. She received her formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. She worked as a Communion Steward at Tremont United Methodist Church in the Bronx, New York. She was married to the late William Wilson. Three sons preceded her in death, Johnny Wilson (Jane); Curtis Wilson (Mattie); and Otis Wilson (Janie). Survivors are: five daughters, Julie Gibson (Bosie) of Kingstree; Rochelle Benbow (Henry) of Lane; Ethel Havens (Dennis) of Uniondale, New York; Lillie Belle Broughton of Bronx, New York; and Alice Mitchum (Willie) of Kingstree; four sons, William Wilson (Elaine) of Uniondale, New York; Laverne Wilson of Bronx, New York; Mose Wilson (Flora) of Columbia; and Willie Wilson (Mary) of Kingstree; 28 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
