PARELEE MCCLARY, KINGSTREE

Funeral services for Mrs. Parelee “Perry” Woodbury McClary, conducted by the Rev. James Williams and the Rev. Hayes T. Gainey, were held Saturday December 15, 2012, at New Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery of Kingstree. Mrs. McClary died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Ronald McNair Nursing Facility of Lake City. She was born March 9, 1937, in Hemingway, the daughter of the late Capers Woodbury and Cora Wright Woodbury. She was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Lake City. She was married to the late Lewis McClary. Later in life she lived to Miami, Florida and Jamaica, New York. She returned to Kingstree, after she retired. Five siblings, Larry Woodbury, Capers Woodbury, Jr., Lonnie Eugene Woodbury, Johnny Woodbury and Earline Woodbury Gainey, preceded her in death. Survivors are: one son, James L. McClary (Sherlene) of Panama City, Florida; one niece that was like a daughter, Loria A. Gainey of Kingstree; one brother, Randolph Woodbury of Winston Salem, North Carolina; three sisters, Mrs. Othenia Cooper of Lake City; Claudia Murray of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and Mrs. Lizzie Lewis of South Fork, Virginia; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
