MINNIE HEMINGWAY - NESMITH

Funeral services for Minnie L. Hemingway, conducted by the Rev. James E. Scott, were held Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Nesmith. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Morning Star Churchyard Cemetery in Nesmith. Ms. Hemingway died Tuesday, August 3, 2010. She was born March 2, 1935, in Nesmith, a daughter of the late Jessie and Ethelene Hemingway. She attended Brown’s High School, formerly located in Nesmith. She was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. She relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she continued her faith at The Garden of Prayer Church. She worked in manufacturing as a seamstress for 30 years and as a home health aide for a number of years. Survivors are: four sons, L.A. Hemingway, Herbert Hemingway and Steve Allen Hemingway (Shelia), all of Nesmith; and Lee Anthony Hemingway of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Lavin Hemingway of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one sister, Flora Clay of Willingboro, New Jersey; three brothers, Jessie Hemingway of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Joe Hemingway (Lue) of Rochester, New York; and Wallace Hemingway (Sharon) of Kingstree; and five grandchildren.
