Mrs. Mildred Harriett Scott Alsbrook, 93, widow of John W. Alsbrook, died Monday, October 1, 2012, at the Kingstree Nursing Facility. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at New Market Cemetery. Mrs. Alsbrook was born April 18, 1919, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of James Alexander and Kizzie Frierson Scott. She was a graduate of Williamsburg County schools and was retired from Williamsburg First National Bank. “Miss Mildred” was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church and the Kizzie Scott Circle. Survivors are: two daughters, Delores A. (James F.) Simpson of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Deborah A. (Carroll L.) Watson of Kingstree; one son, John Scott (“Weezie”) Alsbrook of Salters; one sister, Julie S. Watts of Turbeville; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
