Funeral services for Michael “Mike” Jarvis Samuel, conducted by the Rev. Michael Samuel, were held Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Inez Henryhand Memorial Chapel of St. Stephen. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at St. John Baptist Church Cemetery of Moncks Corner. Mr. Samuel died Tuesday, February 26, 2013. He was born January 29, 1963, the son of the late Jessie Samuel, Sr. and Mary Wallace Samuel. He received his education in the Berkeley County School System. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church. He was a professional painter who worked in various states across the United States. He also painted the Arthur Ravenell Bridge in Charleston. Survivors are: seven sisters, Mavis M. Samuel of St. Stephen; Nadine Brown and Patricia A. Samuel, both of Charleston; Jacqueline P. Samuel and Deborah A. Houser, both of Lilburn, Georgia; Julia A. Revas of Nevada; and Juanita Green of Columbia; one brother, Jerome Brown of Charleston; and his companion, Michele Carter. Pallbearers were Charlmus Brown, Antonio Wright, James Wright, Jr., and Joel Brown.
