Funeral services for Deaconess Mazie J. Moody, conducted by the Rev. Herman Ford, Jr., were held Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Mt. Zion AME Church of Andrews. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery of Andrews. Mrs. Moody died Friday, November 9, 2012. She was born December 23, 1928, the daughter of the late Frederick and Really Watson. She was married to the late James Sessions, Sr. and James Moody. Ten siblings, Johnnie Watson, Ben Watson, Willie Watson, Orange Watson, Rueben Watson, Arthur Watson, Alataw Anderson, Rodelle Graham, Anna Smith, and Alice Pressley, preceded her in death. She moved to Rochester, New York, where she attended Jefferson Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was employed by Gerber Company, Sibleys Clothing Store and several domestic jobs. She moved to Chesterfield, Virginia in 1980, and was a member of the Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she was a deaconess. Survivors are: one brother, James Watson (Cee); eight children, James Session, Jr., Clephos Sessions, Sr. (Janet), Floyd Sessions, Sr. (Norma), Ricky Sessions, Sr. (Patricia), Alton Sessions, Alphonso Sessions, Hazel Roberts, and Peggy Sessions Crawford; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Therman Seward, Thomas Alford, Dethanial Gibson, Pernell Gibson, and Archie Lee McCollough.
