Funeral services for Mrs. Mary “Mae” Etta Pressley, conducted by the Rev. Benjamin Graham, were held Monday, August 9, 2010, at Jerusalem United Methodist Church in Salters. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Jerusalem United Methodist Churchyard Cemetery in Salters. Mrs. Pressley died Thursday, August 5, 2010, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. She was born February 23, 1939, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Sollie Barr and Lizzie Barr. She was a member of St. James Holiness Church. She attended Williamsburg County Schools. She was employed by Georgetown Memorial Hospital and DHEC Home Health Services as a caregiver until her retirement. She was married to the late David Pressley, Sr. Survivors are: three daughters, Caroline Cooper (Randy), Marilyn McCray (Harry Lee) and Sharon Franklin (Harry), all of Williamsburg County; two sons, David Pressley (Diane) of Anderson; and Tony Pressley of Salters; three sisters, Onetha S. Brown, Lessie Odom and Diane Tisdale, all of Salters; three brothers, Sollie Barr, Jr. and Dennis Barr (Ann), both of Rochester, New York; and Willie Barr of Salters; one godsister, Mary Ann Troter of Salters; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
