Funeral services for Lorene Conyers, conducted by the Rev. Clifford Levine, were held Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Bethel AME Church in Lane. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at McKnight Cemetery in Lane.
Ms. Conyers, 68, died Sunday, February 14, 2010, at Kindred Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born March 1, 1941, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late James Ernest Moore and Margaret Conyers Moore. She graduated from the public schools of Williamsburg County. She graduated from Wycoff Heights School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse for several years and retired from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Survivors are: one daughter, Arlene Conyers-Armah (Anthony) of Goodyear, Arizona; two sisters, Lavern Paul of Brooklyn, New York, and Edwine Brunson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and two grandchildren.
