KATHY MCKENZIE ALMERS, FLORENCE

Kathy McKenzie Almers, 62, of Florence, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services were held Friday, February 3, 2012, at Central United Methodist Church.  Burial, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, followed at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Almers was born in Kingstree, a daughter of Margaret McCutcheon McKenzie Driggers and the late T.H. McKenzie.  She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and was the administrator at The Carolinian. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Kingstree, are her husband, William M. “Bill” Almers of Florence; two sons, Michael E. Almers and Kevin J. (Shelley) Almers, both of Florence; two sisters, Libby Rodgers (Richard) of Kingstree; and Johnnie Lynn Evans (Sheldon) of New Zion, and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Avenue North, Suite 101, Myrtle Beach, SC  29577 or to the McLeod Hospice House, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC  29502.
