Katherine Montgomery “Kat” Dickson, 96, died Sunday, November 25, 2012. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Williamsburg Funeral Home of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Williamsburg Cemetery. Mrs. Dickson was born in Clarendon County, a daughter of Samuel Warren Montgomery and Florence Evans Montgomery. Six siblings, Isabel Montgomery, Margaret Montgomery Mayes, Elizabeth M. Montgomery, Ike Montgomery, Steve Montgomery, and Legrand Montgomery, preceded her in death. She was married to the late Glenn Wells Dickson. As a member of the Williamsburg County Voter Registration Board, and with other employment, she raised her family. She was a lifelong member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church of Kingstree. She graduated from Kingstree High School and attended business school in Florence in the 1930s. Survivors are: four children, Wells Dickson (Jhone), Ed Dickson (Lessie Gayle), Elizabeth Mitchell (David), and Meg Lemaire (Mike); eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
