Funeral services for Joseph “Joe” Dunmore were held Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Trinity Baptist Church of Greeleyville. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Keels Cemetery. Mr. Dunmore was born February 2, 1915 in Greeleyville, the son of the late Anthony and Ida Frierson Dunmore. He was married to Miss Ida Frierson. One son, Jimmie Lloyd Dunmore, preceded him in death. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Greeleyville. He developed a love for painting and announced to everyone who would listen, “I will paint the world.” If he had been hired to do so, everyone would have been more than pleased with the excellence of his work. Painting was his career for more than 50 years. Survivors are: four sons, Freddie Dunmore, Willie Dunmore (Emma) of Greeleyville; Frankie Dunmore (Jean) of Hillsboro, North Carolina; and Richard Dunmore (Gloria) of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Shirley Thomas (John) of Greeleyville; and Cynthia Cooper (Sam) of Charleston; four grandsons that he reared as his own, Keith Dunmore, Kenny Simmons, Steven Simmons, and Robert Simmons of Greeleyville; 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
