James McCoy Harrington, 71, husband of Margaret Hutcherson Harrington, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010, in a Florence hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 20, 2010, at the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Mr. Harrington was born October 27, 1938, in Clarendon County, a son of Hampton Perlon and Ida Louise Morris Harrington. He was a graduate of East Clarendon High School, was in the National Guard for eight years, and retired from Santee Electric Co-op after 31 years as a lineman and a staking engineer. He was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of New Zion, are: three sons, James M. Harrington, Jr. (Nan) of New Zion; Kerry T. Harrington (Rhonda) of Kings-tree; and Justin K. Harrington (Aunde) of Manning; one brother, Ed Harrington (Melissa) of Manning; his father-in-law, Curtis R. Hutcherson of Columbus, North Carolina; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to the James Harrington Music Memorial at Second Baptist Church, 20 Dennis Ave., Kingstree, SC 29556.
