Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Jack C. Washington, were held Friday, August 20, 2010, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery of Kingstree. Mrs. Murray died Monday, August 16, 2010, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. She was born December 9, 1926, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Joe and Aliene Cooper. She graduated from Tomlinson High School in 1946. She was married to the late Frank Murray. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she served as a member of the United Methodist Women, the Usher Board and the Alter Guild. She was employed at Kingstree Laundry for many years and Royal Dry Cleaners for a short period before she retired. Survivors are: two sons, Frankie B. Murray, Sr. (Valerie) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Johnny A. Murray, Sr. (Vanessa) of Kingstree; one sister, Cornelia Cooper of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
