HODGES MADISON, JR. - KINGSTREE

Funeral services for Hodges Madison, Jr., conducted by Bishop Roosevelt Fulton and Elder Joseph Woods, were held Thursday, October 15, 2009, at Evangelistic Temple Way of the Cross Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery in Kingstree. Mr. Madison died Saturday, October 10, 2009, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. He was born January 7, 1950 in Williamsburg County, a son of Almeda McFadden Madison and the late Hodges ā€œSā€ Madison, Sr.
He received his education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He graduated from Tomlinson High School in 1968. He was a member of Mount Moriah Holiness church in Kingstree. In the 1970s, he moved to Miami, Florida. He was employed with Merita Bakery for many years. In the 1980s he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and worked for TCI as a shop manager and a truck driver. After retiring, he moved to South Carolina. He became the owner and manager of the Jet-A-Way Lounge in Kingstree. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Kingstree, are: his wife, Mary S. Madison of the home; one son, Waylon Madison (Monique) of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter, Tamikua Madison-Cyrus (Willie) of Stone Mountain, Georgia; five sisters, Ruth Ann Wilson (Picken), Marguree Fulton (Richard), Shirley Madison and Deloris Nesmith, all of Kingstree; and Barbara Reed (Peter) of Charlotte, North Carolina; three brothers, Sam Madison of Atlanta, Georgia; Joseph Madison of Kingstree; and Benjamin Madison of Charlotte, North Carolina; and seven grandchildren.
