HARRY MCKENZIE, KINGSTREE

Harry McKenzie, of Kingstree, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at McLeod Hospice House of Florence. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Smith Cemetery. Mr. McKenzie was born March 27, 1944, in Kingstree, the son of the late Gerald LaRue McKenzie, Sr. and Doris McCutchen McKenzie. He graduated from Columbia Trade School with a degree in diesel mechanics and was a successful businessman engaged in farming and the timber industry. A brother, Shelly McKenzie, preceded him in death. Survivors are: his wife, MaeDean Culick McKenzie; two sons, Harry McKenzie, Jr. (Eadie) of Kingstree, and Greg McKenzie of Columbia; one daughter, Angela McKenzie Graham (Steve) of Irmo; three brothers, LaRue “Snowball” McKenzie (Thelma) and Ricky McKenzie, both of Kingstree, and Harvey McKenzie (Hope) of Springfield; one sister, Mary Brown (David) of Florence; and six grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church, 172 Delos Road, Kingstree, SC 29556.
