Greeleyville Pharmacy receives accreditation

7/7/2009

Greeleyville Pharmacy, an independently owned company located at 105 South Main Street in Greeleyville, has achieved the Award of Accreditation from the Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation, based in Waterloo, Iowa. The award is achieved only when home medical equipment companies demonstrate a high level of quality practices in their business operations and patient care techniques.  Greeleyville Pharmacy earned the three-year accreditation after completing a comprehensive application that focuses on patient care, financial stability, and a commitment to quality operational practices and procedures. Accreditation by the Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation assures Medicare and other payers that the highest levels of quality are practiced within all areas of the company. “We sought accreditation by the Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation to demonstrate that our company is committed to providing excellent patient care and safety in a financially solvent environment,” said Walter Rogan, owner and operator of Greeleyville Pharmacy. “This award also reinforces that our commitment to quality is ongoing.”
Effective October 1, 2009 all pharmacies will be required to be accredited in order to bill Medicare for any diabetic supplies.  “We at Greeleyville Pharmacy are taking the necessary steps to ensure our customers needs are met on a daily basis,” said Rogan. Greeleyville Pharmacy was established in 1982 and serves both Williamsburg and Clarendon county residents. The business is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Rogan and his staff are dedicated to the communities it serves while providing prescription services, diabetic supplies, and nebulizers in an efficient and professional manner.  The business offers complete prescription services, diabetes supplies, adult diapers and underpads and diabetes equipment instructors. The pharmacy also offers sundry items such as greeting cards, school supplies, dipped ice cream, health and beauty supplies, cough and cold preps and watches.
The business is also considered an asset to the area by giving back to their community with public service and donations.  “Maintaining the trust and respect of our patients will always be a priority,” said Rogan. Greeleyville Pharmacy continues to grow and prosper in a way that is mutually beneficial to the ownership and to the community it serves.
