Guy Loyd Gamble, Sr., 65, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at Roper Hospital in Charleston. A memorial service, conducted by the Rev. Darryl Langston, was held Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home, directed by Stephens Funeral Home & Crematory. Born February 15, 1947, in Kingstree, he was the son of the late Joseph White Gamble and Cora Mae Dennis White. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and he was a retired owner and operator of a convenience store and restaurant. He was a member of Greeleyville Free Will Baptist Church. A son, Guy Loyd Gamble Jr.; a brother, Joseph Lamar Gamble; and a sister, Betty Thomas, preceded him in death. Survivors are: one son, Coley O’Brian Gamble (Alicia) of Manning; one daughter, Crystal Gamble of Manning; one brother, Kenneth Gamble (Leona) of Greeleyville; three sisters, Beatrice G. Cottingham, Lola G. Disher and Mary Ann G. Welch, all of Greeleyville. Memorials may be made to Greeleyville Free Will Baptist Church, 201 Easler Hwy., Greeleyville, SC 29056.
