Funeral services for Gloria Ann “Glo” Kennedy, conducted by the Rev. J. Jeannette Cooper, were held Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Cemetery of Kingstree.
Ms. Kennedy died Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Dr. Ronald E. McNair Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Lake City. She was born December 12, 1951, in Kingstree, the daughter of the late Gus James Kennedy and Anna Grace Hanna Kennedy. Two siblings, James A. “Boogie” Kennedy, Jr. and Tyrone “Dickie” Kennedy, preceded her in death. She received her formal educational training from the public schools of Williamsburg County. She attended Williamsburg Technical College, Gordon Development Center, and Williamsburg County Disability and Special Needs Center. During her training at Williamsburg County Disability and Special Needs Center, she was known primarily for her dedicated service as a presser. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Survivors are: one brother, Franklin Kennedy (Peggy); and a special relative, Janet T. Graham.
