Funeral services for George McCullough, conducted by the Rev. McNeil Evans, Jr., were held Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at Mt. Zion AME Church in Andrews. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery in Andrews.
Mr. McCullough died Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at the home of his sister Berthena McCutcheon. He was born January 19, 1948, in Andrews, a son of the late David and Geneva (Morris) McCullough. He attended St. Mark High School and graduated in 1966. He was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church in the Bloomingvale Community of Andrews. He was employed by Andrews Wire and Sampit Lumber Company. He was also a successful concrete finisher. Two children preceded him in death. Survivors are: his wife, Evangelist Gearldean McCray McCullough; two daughters, Evangelist Vanessa Barr (Bernard) of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Kimberly Snow (Kevin) of Kenly, North Carolina; one son, André McCullough (Sonja) of Cleveland, Ohio; his siblings, Mrs. Berthena McCutcheon; Mrs. Janette Scott (Wilson) and Mrs. CuSandra McCray, all of Andrews; Mrs. Monette Cunningham (Oliver), Mallison McCullough (Tereasa), Roy McCullough (Shirley) and Louis Smith (Mary), all of Rochester, New York; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
