Christmas is just around the corner. Make preparation to help those in need.
Donate: clothes, food, toys, household items, furniture, automobiles and Christmas items.

St. Ann Outreach
The Felician Sisters are looking how to help others for the holidays by collecting coats, jackets, blankets and bedding to assist people as the days grow colder. Gently used baby clothes and children clothes are also needed. Christmas comes at the end of the month when the resources of most folks are depleted.
If you, your organization, church and business are looking for ways to brighten the holidays for others, please contact Sister Susanne or Sister Johnna at 354-9415.

Boys to Men meeting    
Williamsburg County Boys to Men Club, Inc. will meet each Tuesday evening in the Kingstree Elementary School Annex Character Academy Cafeteria on North Academy Street at 6 p.m.  All concerned parents are welcome. For additional information please call (843) 355-5967.

Clothing Giveaway
 Kingstree Church of Christ, 1288 Sumter Hwy., Kingstree, will have a clothing giveaway on Saturday, December 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Angel Tree
St. Ann Catholic Center and Williamsburg First National Bank on Main St. are co-sponsoring an Angel Tree of “Needs” for area children. The Felician Sisters interviewed each parent for the “Needs” of their children.  Please stop by the bank and “be” an angel by purchasing a clothing item to brighten a child this Christmas season. The deadline for the returns is December 10.

Home Repair Program
St. Ann Catholic Center will once again be sponsoring minor home repairs during the months of March and April 2009. Minor home repairs include porch repairs, painting, repair of walls, ceilings, minor floor problems, and ramps.  To qualify for assistance you must own your home, live in Williamsburg County and be in need.  Please call Sister Johnna at 843-354-9415 before December 19. Office hours are between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. during the weekday.

Gift Goes On
The choir of Hebron Independent Church of Cades will lead in  a Christmas celebration of music by presenting “The Gift Goes On,” on Friday evening, December 19 at 7 p.m. All people in the Hebron community and Kingstree area are invited to come and join in this special time of worship.  Hebron Independent Church is located at 1424 Hebron Rd., two miles south of Hebron Crossroads. Fruit of Spirit
Chapel of the Cross Reformed Episcopal Church, 1055 Eastland Ave., Kingstree, invites you to attend our annual Fruit of the Spirit Program on Sunday, December 14 at 4 p.m.

Christmas Cantata
Hopewell African Methodist Episcopal Church, 30704 County Line Rd., Hemingway, will present its annual Christmas Cantata Concert & Fellowship 2008 on Wednesday, December 17 at 7:00 p.m. The theme is “Emmanuel…We Worship You!”
Featuring…The Hopewell AME Church Voices of HOPE Choir, The Hopewell AME Church Drama, Praise Dance and Flag Ministries. A reception will follow in the Getha Lee Mention Turner Fellowship Hall. Toys for Tots
Single parents eligible with children ages 0 to 13 years of age toys will be distributed at Evangelistic Temple Church, 651 Eastland Ave., Kingstree on Saturday, December 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Concert
For the past several Sunday afternoon, the sanctuary of The Lake City First Baptist Church has rung with the voices of choir members from throughout the area as they prepared to present George Frideric Handel’s The Messiah. Lake City churches have joined The First Presbyterian Church of Florence to form a 78 voice chorus for the evening’s performances. Featured soloists for the concert are Dr. Patti Edwards, voice professor, Coastal Carolina University; Christina Welch of Florence; Claire Goodman Watts of Savannah, Georgia; Dr. Walter Cuttino, voice professor, The University of South Carolina; Erick Sigueras of Florence; and Hubert (Happy) Pendergraft of Lake City. An orchestral accompaniment enchances the performance and includes organs, harpischord, strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. The Messiah is conducted by Roger Kirby, music director of The Lake City First Baptist Church. The oratorio’s assistant director is Ann Rodgers Chandler, organist and director of music at The First Presbyterian Church of Florence. The Messiah is offered to the public Thursday, December 18 at The First Presbyterian Church of Florence and Sunday, December 21 at The Lake City First Baptist Church. Both performances begin at 7:30 with receptions following.
