Holiday Food Boxes
St. Ann Outreach Center at 908 Thorne Avenue will be holding interviews for holiday food boxes for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Please bring some form of identification to show that you are a resident of Williamsburg County. The appointments to apply will be held from 9 a.m. to noon only on the following days:
•Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 3, 4, and 5.
•Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 10, 11, and 12.
Ingathering
Central Presbyterian, 5001 Thurgood Marshall Hwy., Kingstree, will host the annual ingathering on Saturday, October 31. The day begins with a bazaar at 10 a.m., followed by lunch at noon and the auction sale at 1:30 p.m. Central is best known for its delicious food, cakes, homemade jams, relishes and handmade quilts. Other items of interest will be woodcrafts, dolls, wreaths, Christmas items. You are sure to find some very unusual items.

Pumpkin Patch
Kingstree Community Youth will be sponsoring their annual “Pumpkin Patch” beginning Monday, October 19 to Thursday, October 30, at Kingstree United Methodist Church located at 510 N. Longstreet St. Operating hours will be from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Please come out and pick the perfect pumpkin for your family or business from our patch. We will also be hosting “Story Time” in the patch on Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Schools, daycares and other child-oriented organizations are invited to join us. Winter Revival
Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church, located at 65 C. E. Musical Program
Central Missionary Baptist Church family will be celebrating Min. Kelvin Tyrone Brown, Sr. Musical Appreciation Program beginning on October 30, at 7 p.m. and concluding on Sunday, November 1, at 4 p.m. On Friday there will be a gospel concert with various choirs and groups. Climaxing on Sunday will be our guest speaker Pastor Henry E. Dixon of The Ministries of Truth Tabernacle of Cordesville.
Meeting
There will be meeting Tuesday, October 27, at 6 p.m. at Kingstree Junior High School, 710 Third Ave., Kingstree, for those interested in applying for assistance with home repairs. Kingstree United Methodist and Williamsburg Presbyterian Churches will host Black River Workcamp during the week of June 20-26, 2010. The workcamp plans to bring 400 youth and adults to Williamsburg County to improve the homes of local residents. Elderly, handicapped and low-income residents of Williamsburg County will receive free home repairs. These repairs include roofing, porch and wheelchair ramp construction, interior and exterior painting, weatherization and other repairs.
Qualifications for home repairs are must be elderly, low-income and/or disabled; must own his/her home; must have no other means to get the work completed; and home is within a 30-minute driving distance from town of Kingstree.
Clothing Giveaway
Kingstree Church of Christ, 1288 Sumter Hwy., Kingstree, will have a clothing giveaway on Saturday, November 21, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Centennial Celebration
Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Greeleyville Centennial Celebration will be held from November 14 to November 15. Our theme is “All Prosperity comes from God.” On Saturday, November 14, at 6 p.m. the adult choir will be in concert.
The Centennial Celebration program will be held on Sunday, November 15, at 3:30 p.m. The speaker for this occasion will be the Rev. Elder B. Holmes, Moderator of the Jerusalem Baptist and Educational Association.
Fundraiser
Kingstree Pentecostal Holiness Church on Hwy. 52 and McCall Rd. is having a fundraiser and singing local groups. So if you can sing or play an instrument come on out and join us. There will be good old homecooking and desserts. Time starts at 5 p.m. until. Plates are $7. Eat in or take out.
Conference
First annual women’s health conference and luncheon will be held Saturday, October 31, from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in the fellowship hall, 500 W. Community Breakfast
On November 7, at 9 a.m. the Care and Concern Organization-Soup Kitchen will have our annual community breakfast. Mayor Anderson and other city officials will assist with preparing and serving breakfast. We are asking for your monetary donations. Please make checks payable to Care and Concern Organization Soup Kitchen.
Blessed Angela Meal
On Nov. 24, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., St. Ann Catholic Center at 908 Thorne Ave. in Kingstree offers a free hot lunch. Everyone is welcome. This meal is offered on the last Tuesday of each month all year long.
Free Breakfast
Greater Bethel AME Church will be serving a free hot breakfast on the last Friday of each month until further notice from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The church is located at 308 W. Main St., Kingstree. Everyone is welcome.
