How happy I am to see that some churches are doing more than trying to preach the bible, but are actually addressing the social needs of the whole person. Bethel UMC have decided to incorporate the teachings of the Bible and apply it to the real issues that many of our communites are facing....teenage pregnancy / unwed motherhood, and lack of financial responsibility are only 2 problems that are wreaking havoc on our communities but atleast Pastor Cook and the members of BUMC, have open minds enough to realize that many of the problems that are facing our youth will not be addressed by going to church and listening to a sermon but by dealing with them head on and meeting people where they are. I wish that more churches would take the opportunity to deal with more social problems than using all of that valuable time just preaching and no teaching. Bernice
