FREDDIE CHINA, GREELEYVILLE

Funeral services for Freddie Jerome China were held Thursday, September 13, 2012, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church of Greeleyville. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at St. James Missionary Baptist Churchyard Cemetery of Greeleyville.

Mr. China died Friday, September 7, 2012, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital of Kingstree. He was born August 10, 1944, the son of the late Deacon John Henry and Mary Alice Johnson China. Three siblings, Nancy Lee, Johnny Lee and John Edward China, preceded him in death. He was a member of St. James Baptist Church. He worked in many capacities as a farmer associate, pine tree planter, and was a community handy person. Survivors are: three surrogate children he raised, Glenn A. Keels of Greeleyville; and Leukia J. Brown, and Wayne A. Brown (LaToyia), both of Columbia; two sisters, Dorothy M. Mack and Margie R. Collins, both of Greeleyville; two brothers, James T. China and Ricky China, both of Greeleyville; a sister-in-law, who was like a sister, Mrs. Margie China of Greeleyville; a niece, Jacqueline Mack, who was raised in the home; a cousin, Willie T. China, who was like a brother; and four grandchildren.
