Funeral services for Freddie Barnes, conducted by the Rev. Brian Williams, were held Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Beulah AME Church of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Beulah AME Churchyard Cemetery of Kingstree. Mr. Barnes died Saturday, April 21, 2012. He was born September 22, 1923, a son of the late Emma and McKinley Barnes. He received his education in the Williamsburg County School District. He attended Beulah AME Church of Kingstree, where he served as Class Leader, Treasurer, Pastor Steward and singing on the Senior Choir. He worked at Georgia Pacific for many years. Five siblings, Kuhn Barnes, Patricia Barnes, Henry Barnes, Sarah Scott, and Mary Love, preceded him in death. Survivors are: his wife, Florien Barnes; his children, Pete Mouzon (Frances), Willie Joe Barnes, Jewel Hannah (Randolph), Fred A. Barnes, Lawrence Barnes (Claudia), Carolyn James, Kenneth Barnes, Gilbert Barnes (Caroline), Genevieve Windham (Archie), and Glenn Barnes (Gloris); two brothers, Walter Barnes (Gertrude) of Kingstree; and Joe Barnes of Lake City; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
