FRANK FOOTMAN - GREELEYVILLE

Funeral services for Frank “Foot” Footman, conducted by the Rev. John Taylor and the Rev. Jimmy Brockington, were held Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Mt. Zion AME Church in Greeleyville. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Hunter Cemetery in Greeleyville. Mr. Footman died Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at Hospice Home in High Point, North Carolina. He was born August 22, 1932, in Williamsburg County, the son of the late Emily Footman and raised by the late Elder Henry Footman.
He was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He was a member of St. John 4-B Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee, a member of the Usher’s Board and sang on the choir. He was employed with the South Carolina Highway Department for 15 years, where he retired. He was a member of Pride of Foreston Lodge #296. He was married to the late Ruby Mae Canty. Survivors are: two sons, Charles Footman of High Point, North Carolina; and Theron Footman of Greeleyville; three daughters, Frankie Childers of High Point, North Carolina; Bobbie Jean Keels (Julius) of Greeleyville; and Deloris Chandler (Anthony) of Manning; a grandson he reared as his own, Michael Footman (Gwendolyn) of Thomasville, North Carolina; 23 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
