Faye Davis Burgess, 80, widow of Monore “Roe” Burgess, Jr., died Saturday, October 31, 2009, in a Webster, Texas hospital. Graveside funeral service, conducted by the Rev. David Ruth, were held Thursday, November 5, 2009, at Williamsburg Cemetery. Mrs. Burgess was born October 29, 1929, in Walterboro, a daughter of the late Norman and Elizabeth Sprott Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church and the John W. Davis Sunday School Class. She had resided in Texas with her daughter and son-in-law for several years. While in Texas, Mrs. Burgess was a volunteer at Hearthstone Assisted Living Center. Survivors are: one daughter, Elaine Pullen (Bruce) of Dickinson, Texas; and two grandsons. Memorials may be made to Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 411 N. Academy St., Kingstree, SC 29556.
