EVELYN WILSON, KINGSTREE

Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Vereen Wilson, conducted by the Rev. William S. James and the Rev. James C. Lane, were held Friday, February 15, 2013, at Asbury United Methodist Church of Andrews. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery of Andrews.

Mrs. Wilson died Saturday, February 9, 2013, at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence. She was born December 17, 1946, in Hemingway, the daughter of the late Betty Lou Vereen Pressley and Charlie Vereen. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school secretary for many years, as well as an Usher Board member. Her love was the BMCR (Black Methodist Church Renewal Organization), where she served faithfully. She attended St. Mark Elementary and High School, where she graduated in 1965. Survivors are: two loving sons, Andre’ Wilson of Greensboro, North Carolina; and Quantrell M. Wilson of Kingstree; one brother, Clarence Vereen (Dr. Margret) of Iselin, New Jersey; and one grandson.
